Changes in Regulation of FCT 2010

The FCT (Foundation for Science and Technology) is a government organization in Portugal, partly funded by European Union which distributes grants for students and scientists develop their research projects. The rules of this year, the Foundation changed some articles so that foreigners and immigrants can not compete at pre-doctoral fellowships, excluding citizens of the European Union and all countries outside of this block. All of bilateral treaties are not being respected. This fact undermines many of the researchers in Portugal a few years ago, linked to Portuguese research institutes, and depend on the scholarship to continue in the country. This change affects the level of research developed in Portugal, as well as the universities lost money from these students. The change made by the FCT segregated education and limited research coverage. It is an act of discrimination and prejudiced. It aims to create a movement for changes in the rules of competition predoctoral Foundation for Science and Technology (FCT). Please disseminate this action.
